Vitolo admits a penalty shootout defeat in the final of the Supercopa de Espana is tough to take.

Atletico Madrid's players took Real Madrid to a shootout lottery after drawing the final 0-0 in Jeddah.

Vitolo said, "The penalty shootout in the end is luck, intuition, but we have to say that the team has competed, both against Barcelona and today. The defeat is a hard stick for us but we will get up from this as we have done in other times.

"We seek to compete which is what the mister always asks of us and the fans on our side have to be satisfied because the team fought, left everything.

"It could not be but surely in the future, if we continue to compete like this, we will receive some titles."

On Fede Valverde's foul on Atletico striker Alvaro Morata in a clear goalscoring position, Vitolo insisted: "I cannot enter to value what each one does. We are dedicated to ours and nothing else."
