Vincenzo Vergine leaves Roma to become new AC Milan academy director

Vincenzo Vergine has been named new AC Milan academy director.

Vergine resigned as Roma youth chief last night and was confirmed Milan's head of youth today.

Milan announced this morning:

"AC Milan is pleased to announce that it has entrusted the role of Youth Sector Manager to Vincenzo Vergine, a graduate in Sports Sciences and Sociology.

"Vergine, who has already held the same role for 13 years at Fiorentina, from 1 July 2006 to 31 December 2019, and subsequently for the last two years at Roma, arrives at the Puma House of Football - Vismara Sports Centre in via dei Missaglia - to strengthen the process of valorising the talents of the Rossoneri youth system, leading it to be a leader in Italy and Europe not only from the point of view of sporting results. P

"The new Manager will be operational both at the Puma House of Football and at the Milanello Sports Centre where the Primavera trains for a unique path that embraces the entire Academy of the Club.

"Convinced by the project for Milan's youth, Vergine left Roma where, in the period under his direction, he won 6 trophies with the various teams of the Giallorossi youth sector.

"We wish Vincenzo Vergine all the best in his work."
