Vincent Weijl has spoken of his time with Liverpool.
Now 27, the Dutchman joined Georgia's FC Samtredia in January.
Asked about his time with the Reds, Weijl told Voetbalzone he regretted his decision to leave.
"I should have made a different choice," the midfielder said.
"I performed well at Liverpool in the first year and also in the second year. I was still in the Under-19 and Under-21s of the Dutch national team. My choice after that was not strong, because I went to Spain at a young age. I still had to learn a lot.
"I probably could have gone to the Netherlands, because at a club like Eibar you have to be right. It was also not easy because I did not speak the language, the communication was difficult."
Weijl added: "Rafael Benítez left and they wanted to make the club English again. Benítez had in his staff and at the academy all Spaniards and players from all over the world were attracted.
"The experience no one can take away from me and I have learned a lot."
