Aston Villa winger James Milner says Joe Kinnear should be made permanent Newcastle United manager.

"It's disappointing with what's going on up there at the moment with all the instability," said the former Toon midfielder.

"Hopefully they can sort it out from the top as soon as possible.

"If Joe Kinnear is the right man for the job then they should put him in permanently.

"And if he's not then get someone else in."
