Aston Villa goalkeeper Brad Friedel admits he's a big fan of Hull City No1 Boaz Myhill.

"I think he's done extremely well and made some really good saves," Friedel told the Sunday Mercury. "Top to bottom, Hull are a really difficult team to play against and you don't win multiple games in the Premier League without having a bit of quality.

"Myhill saves the ball more times than he doesn't, he's obviously playing with confidence right now and he seems to have a good understanding with the rest of his back four.

"It's difficult to single out one individual but I think he is an example of the quality and spirit that they have and collectively, as a team, they've performed very well together.

"I heard Myhill had some American connection and I didn't realise that he was a former Villa player. I won't get into talking about what he needs to do to continue making progress, it is not my place to say.

"I think he's done well and I think everyone sees that he's doing well and all the power to him."
