Villarreal winger Danjuma happy for Bournemouth after Foley takeover

Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma admitted he will always be grateful for his stint at Bournemouth.

The Dutch attacker, who did not go to the World Cup, achieved success in the Champions League with Villarreal last term, reaching the semi finals.

Despite not being the most prolific player in the Premier League for Bournemouth, Danjuma has fond memories of his time at the club.

In an interview with The Athletic, he stated: “Bournemouth have always been good to me and I had a very good time there.

“It's the club that set me up and helped me achieve so much. Without Bournemouth, I wouldn't be here today.

“I always try to aim for the highest possible level.

“Going to Bournemouth seemed like the right move but it didn't work out in the best way possible.

“Not staying up in the Premier League in the first season played a part in me leaving and in the end, it wasn't meant to be.

Villarreal made an offer that I felt was a perfect opportunity to play Champions League football again."

Danjuma added on the Cherries' recent takeover by Bill Foley: “I'm excited for them.

“I just hope the players don't turn to an acting career! They have to stay focused on football, don't they!

“But seriously, Bournemouth has always been managed in the right way and you feel it when you're part of the club.

“It's always been a family environment and there's a really strong togetherness.

“Whatever Bournemouth do in terms of their owners, they'll ensure that's the right way."
