Villarreal are interested in Sporting Lisbon winger Joao Pereira.
The Yellow Submarine intend to buy attacking players in January after losing Nilmar and Giuseppe Rossi for the season with knee injuries.
Pereira, 27, is emerging as a top target for Villarreal.
