Villarreal boss Unai Emery is targeting his former Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.
Mikel Arteta has been given a goalkeeper headache after Bernd Leno's return from injury.
Martinez was excellent in the German's absence and won a start in last weekend's Community Shield win over Liverpool.
But should Arteta decide to go with Leno for the Premier League season, Emery is waiting to sign Martinez, according to the Telegraph.
The Gunners will only sell Martinez if he wants to leave and could be willing to accept as little as £7m for the Argentine.
Schalke and Aston Villa have also been linked with the 26-year-old.
