Villarreal coach Unai Emery hailed four-goal Yeremy Pino after victory over Espanyol.
Pino dominated the scoresheet as the Yellow Submarine won 5-1 on Sunday.
Emery said: "Yeremy is a 19-year-old boy who has a lot of maturity for certain things. He is competitive, brave and always wants more. He's not always brilliant, he's very young and has a lot to learn. Lately, he has played less and today he put in a very complete performance. We want to shine collectively, but we want individual quality to shine through too. We have a very competitive squad and that gives us better performances."
For his part, Emery pointed out that the objective this season is to compete for the European places: "We want to consolidate ourselves there, in the top six places. There is a lot of competition, very strong teams like FC Barcelona, Real Betis, Atlético de Madrid, Real Sociedad and Athletic Club. They are teams that are going to be winning a lot and we will have to do the same to be up there."
The Villarreal coach also said: "We are finding a consistency that we didn't have before. We are being demanding and very competitive and it's paying off. We produced a very well-rounded display, which strengthens us and gives us confidence."
