Villarreal have moved to beat Sevilla for Velez Sarsfield fullback Emiliano Papa.

The left-sided defender has been tracked by Sevilla for much of the winter market, however, itasportpress.it says Villarreal are offering £3 million to Velez for the player.

Papa is prepared to move to Europe, though must be assured of his first team chances as he wants to stay on the radar of Argentina coach Diego Maradona ahead of the World Cup.
