Aston Villa have asked West Ham for striker Marlon Harewood.

The Sunday Mercury says Villa boss Martin O'Neill travelled to London last week to try and speed up the Nigel Reo-Coker saga and is believed to have discussed a £3 million move for Harewood too.

Sources close to Harewood say West Ham would be willing to do business providing their £3m valuation, plus appearance based add-ons, is met.
