Cardiff City striker Jay Bothroyd is being linked with Aston Villa.
The England cap is off contract in June and attracted interest from Newcastle United.
The Daily Mail says despite a deal in place for Sunderland ace Darren Bent, Villa could also bid for Bothroyd at £3 million.
Cardiff boss Dave Jones yesterday insisted he would not sell the forward.
