Aston Villa are moving for Valencia fullback Miguel.

Chelsea have also been linked with the Portugal international and the Sunday Mirror says O'Neill will make a new bid to sign Miguel after being turned down for the 27-year-old in the summer.

A deal for 45-times capped Miguel is the top priority, especially now former skipper Olof Mellberg has admitted he could be off to Juventus when his contract is up in the summer.

Villa thought they would get the former Benfica star in the summer, only to be scared off when Valencia suddenly slapped a price tag of more than £8m on him.

He then signed a new contract taking him up to 2012, but now that the Spanish club have gone out of the Champions League he could be available for £4.5m.
