Aston Villa will have to see off Dutch competition to land Hamburg midfielder Nigel de Jong.
Villa boss Martin O'Neill is looking to bring in a new midfielder to replace Gavin McCann, who has joined Bolton for £1m.
De Jong cost Hamburg £800,000 from Ajax 18 months ago and PSV Eindhoven and AZ Alkmaar are also keen on him. De Jong, 22, is Hamburg's highest earner on £40,000 a week.
