Aston Villa are not planning to terminate Clement Lenglet's loan from Barcelona in the winter.
The French defender has been a peripheral figure at Villa despite arriving in the summer.
Manager Unai Emery sees him as a backup, while the 28-year-old wants to play regularly.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Barca are ready to bring him back and send him on loan to AC Milan.
However, Villa stand in the way, as they would have to agree to cancel the loan deal.
Lenglet is the first backup at Villa and manager Emery does not want to risk being short at the back as the season progresses.
