Aston Villa chairman Randy Lerner insists they can break into the Premiership's top four.
But he's convinced it's good management as much as big money that will ultimately decide who keeps hold of the Champions League places.
Lerner insisted in the Sunday Mirror: "This big four business is a myth. A few years ago it was Leeds who were right up there in the Champions League places, and a few years before that it was Newcastle who were one of the dominant clubs chasing titles.
"So I won't give up and just accept that the four clubs who are at the top now will govern everybody else for the next 10 years. Who knows who will be up there by then?"
