Villa captain Vlaar: We are not safe yet

Aston Villa's Ron Vlaar insists the club is not yet safe from relegation.

Despite hammering Sunderland 6-1 on Monday night and moving five points clear of the drop zone, Vlaar says the job is far from done for the Villains.

"We want to win every game," the Dutch defender, who opened the scoring in the 31st minute, told Sky Sports 1.

"The next game is Saturday (at Norwich City) and is very important. It's not over yet."

Vlaar was also full of praise for Christian Benteke who scored a second-half hat-trick to take his Premier League goal tally to 18 in his debut season.

"I don't think I have to tell you, we've all seen what he's done," Vlaar added.

"He's scored so many goals, you can always give the ball to him, he's so strong."
