Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill has hailed the impact Marlon Harewood has made since the New Year.
O'Neill has been delighted with Harewood and told Villa's website: "I couldn't be more pleased with him. I think he has been really excellent. He has galvanised the team and since his introduction at Liverpool he has been a genuine breath of fresh air.
"He turned the game on its head against Liverpool, and his introductions in matches have been fantastic.
"Some people come on as a substitute and never get a kick. He has been able to force his way into the game, and not only force his way in but make a big impact in games.
"There have been two fantastic goals that he has scored in that length of time, so that's great.
"He is fighting for a place in the side with Gabby Agbonlahor and John Carew. We are a threat and Marlon has just really been excellent and I am really pleased for him. His contribution in recent weeks has been exceptional."
