Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is confident Ashley Young will bounce back from his England spell this week.
The Villa chief said: "I didn't detect that he was deflated by not playing on Wednesday. I didn't detect it in training. I didn't ask him the question but when you are in the England squad, I don't think you should be too disappointed.
"I think he is reasonably happy to be included in that group of people and to actually get on the field of play even though it was for only a couple of minutes.
"Unfortunately, I actually left Wembley before he came on when what I thought were the last two substitutions were made with nine minutes to go. I heard he had got on via the car radio."
