Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is moving for Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson.

The Mirror says O'Neill plans to swoop for the unsettled keeper in the summer, with Robinson hoping for a fresh start after losing his starting place for both club and England in what has been a difficult campaign.

O'Neill is looking for a long-term answer to his goalkeeping problem, with Scott Carson set to return to Liverpool after a yearlong loan because Villa are reluctant to pay £10million to secure him.

Robinson could cost up to £5m, which Villa can afford.
