Aston Villa are closing in on Germinal Beerschot midfielder Victor Wanyama.

The Daily Mail says new Villa manager Alex McLeish and chief scout Paul Montgomery were keen on Wanyama while they were at Birmingham City but couldn't commit following their relegation.

Now he is at Villa with a better budget he is ready to revisit the deal.
