Aston Villa boss Gerard Houllier believes they can take advantage of a wounded Liverpool.

Houllier is hoping injury-hit Villa can capitalise on Liverpool's key casualties with Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher missing for Monday's Anfield showdown.

"They will miss not only a player but they will miss their captain," he said. "He is someone who can rally the team.

"When they were 3-0 down and they came to 3-3 and they won on penalties in the Champions League everybody contributed in that success.

"But I would say two players contributed to that major success and it was Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher."
