Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor wants to avoid a final day relegation battle.
The last thing the Brummie-born striker wants is to be going to survival experts Wigan in the last game of the season on May 19 with Villa’s fate still in the balance.
Agbonlahor admitted: “I don’t want to be going to Wigan with 90 minutes to save our season — especially on that pitch!
“We’re looking to get the results we need way before then. I’ve seen some of those final-day dramas over the years and they have been ridiculous.
“We don’t want to be involved in any of that. If it takes us to the final game to survive, so be it, we’ll do whatever it takes to stay up.
“But personally I’m not looking at that scenario."
