Australian striker Mark Viduka is reportedly close to agreeing a one-year deal with Portsmouth. The 33-year old has been linked with a move to a number of Premier League clubs since his contract expired at Newcastle United at the end of last season but this is the closest he has been to signing.
It is believed that the deal will be incentive-based following Viduka's recent injury problems.
Pompey boss Paul Hart is keen to replace England international Peter Crouch who joined Tottenham this week and has directed his attention towards Viduka after they missed out on Croatia striker Nikola Kalinic.
