With Major League Soccer (MLS) giants LA Galaxy in Newcastle for the exhibition match with the Jets, tribalfootball.com was able to catch up with Club President Tom Payne.

Payne joined the Galaxy in 2003 after serving as the Sales Manager for Disney's Wide World of Sports in Orlando from 1998-2003. During his time at Disney, Payne helped establish the Soccer Showcase which is the top-ranked youth/college soccer program in the USA for top college bound prospects.

Since 2003, Payne has served as the Galaxy's Assistant General Manager and Vice President of Programming and Business Development before moving into the President of Business Operation role which he currently holds.

With Payne, we discussed the finer points of the business side of things involved in running a professional sporting club such as the Galaxy along with the success that has been David Beckham.
