Veteran Windass returning to Hull

Dean Windass is expected to return to Hull City and could be set for a coaching role as well as playing in the reserves.

The 39-year old made a loan move to Oldham earlier this season but could not secure first team football and looks certain to make a comeback at KC Stadium.

FA regulations will not allow the striker to play again this season but he can return in another role.

"He's come in and he's lively," Tigers assistant Brian Horton told the Hull Daily Mail.

"Deano has gone to Oldham and it hasn't worked out, so we'll have to see what he can do.

"At the moment, it's being worked out with [club secretary] Phil Hough and the manager as to where he can go, can he come back, can't he come back?

"There's nothing been resolved at the moment, but he can't play in The Premier League. We're trying to work out if he could play in the reserves but we'll see what happens.

"There are stories in the paper that he could be coaching but nothing has been resolved at the moment."
