Carlos Vela is on the brink of signing a new contract with Arsenal.

Eduardo Hernández, Vela's agent, has held successful negotiations with Gunners chief Ivan Gazidis in recent days over a new deal.

The Mexico striker's current agreement runs to 2011 and the 'Young Guns' website reports that everything is now being finalised for Vela to put pen to paper on a new, long-term contract. As is Arsenal policy, the actual of length of the deal will not be announced.
