Manchester United will assess the extent of Raphael Varane's injury when he returns to the club this week.
The centre-back came off in the 43rd minute of France's Nations League final win over Spain in Milan.
Varane is now expected to undergo a scan when he reports at United's Carrington training complex on Tuesday, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Fellow centre-back Harry Maguire has missed the last two games due to an ankle injury.
The possible absence of Varane and Maguire could lead the way for Phil Jones to make his first Premier League matchday squad since February 2020.
United next face Leicester City at King Power Stadium on Saturday before hosting Atalanta and Liverpool at Old Trafford.
