Vancouver Whitecaps throw young gun Salgado out of training

Omar Salgado was thrown out of Vancouver Whitecaps training for objecting to a tackle made by teammate Gershon Koffie.

The talented 19-year old striker was unhappy when Koffie brought him down in a challenge despite him recovering from ongoing foot problems.

Salgado pushed Koffie after the tackle and was subsequently sent from the training pitch according to a report in the Vancouver Sun.

Koffie said: "He's one of my best friends, I didn't mean to do that. But it's a game and sometimes things happen. But it's OK, we're family."
