Kenny Miller has made it clear that he feels Ally McCoist is the perfect man to lead Rangers.
The former 'Gers striker, now with Vancouver Whitecaps, suggests any criticism the manager has copped in recent times is unwarranted and is fully behind him to restore the Glasgow club to their former glories.
"Ally is the right man for the Rangers job, of course he is," he said in the wake of last weekend's Scottish Cup loss to Dundee United.
"You can only take your hat off to him for what he has had to deal with in the past 18 months.
"That would be enough to end any manager but he has dealt with it well and the club have now come to terms with the fact they're in the Third Division.
"Last weekend was a disappointing result at Tannadice but there's no doubting Coisty. He can take Rangers onwards and upwards.
"Listen, he has managed the club through a right tough time and they will be stronger at the end of it.
"Hopefully they'll be back in the SPL soon and Coisty will be managing them there, where they should be.
"Don't forget how hard the administration period hit everyone at the club. They were devastated.
"You hear foreign lads who were at Rangers speak so highly of how Coisty handled things."
