Robin van Persie denies any influence on Manchester United's appointment of manager Louis van Gaal.
Van Persie, who is a close friend of his national coach, has rebuffed allegations he had an input to Van Gaal's appointment.
The Dutchman said: "No, the management of Manchester United did not ask me.
"But if they watched from a distance they would know how we have been with each other.
"I have had two very pleasant years under him with the Oranje.
"He is very clear. I'm going to have a new process over the next two years with Van Gaal at my club. I'm really looking forward to it."
