Former Holland coach Bert van Marwijk says the KNVB have cocked up the national team post.
Van Marwijk says Southampton boss Ronald Koeman should have been chosen after the World Cup ahead of Guus Hiddink.
"Last year Guus Hiddink was appointed, while everyone was waiting for Ronald Koeman," he told Voetbal Studio.
"Koeman was the ideal person. And also the the decision to replace Hiddink with (Danny) Blind I found striking."
Koeman has made it clear he won't walk out on Saints for the Oranje.
