PSV Eindhoven chief Martin van Geel remains confident of re-signing Manchester City defender Karim Rekik.

Van Geel hopes to extend Rekik's loan into the new campaign after last season's impressive spell.

"We are waiting for him. Karim is our first option," Van Geel made clear.

"He knows our club and the way of playing. This is an advantage."
