Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg says coaching staff are pleased with his progress.

The Dutchman is currently on-loan with Preston North End.

He told NOS: “They were happy. And hopefully even more after this year.

"Actually, the plan was to participate in preseason for the firsts of Liverpool this season, but I myself thought it would be best to be loaned out for another year."

The former PEC Zwolle prospect says moving abroad has also been good for his personal development.

“That was also necessary. The move abroad has helped me with that. I have become better socially."
