Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek was pleased with his assist for Juan Mata's goal in their Carabao Cup win at Brighton.
Van de Beek was in fine form at the Amex Stadium as he set up Mata for his landmark goal with a delightful back-heeled pass. It was van de Beek's first assist in a red shirt, adding to his debut goal against Crystal Palace.
“It was a good ball from Fred to me, it was a strong pass," he told MUTV afterwards.
"I take the one touch to Juan because I already saw that he was making a movement. I think it was a great finish and a great goal from us.
“I'm really happy to play with players like Juan.
“He's so creative and an amazing passer. He can play one-touch and that is also what I like. I think we make a good combination on the pitch and, for sure, I'm happy to play with a legend like Juan."
Van de Beek added: "This gives energy and confidence.
"Like I've said before, we want to win trophies, I think this is a big opportunity to take one of them. We fight for every prize and this is really important."
