Valencia fullback Miguel admits he enjoys sampling Spain's nightlife.

The defender, who penned a new long-term deal last week, said: "When I was with Benfica, I'd be out two or three times a week. And nowadays in Valencia I go out Thursdays. It's my ritual, I like to go out once a week in Spain and Thursday is when most people are out.

"I am a player who does not have problems in recognising who I am. I do not hide and everybody can see me. Sometimes, though, I do avoid some things in respect to my friends."

Miguel also revealed he is a smoker.

"I've been doing it since I was 14," he added. "I smoke two or three cigarettes a day. I don't smoke a pack, I know how to control it."
