Valencia are battling to keep Manchester City away from midfielder Juan Mata.

Having already lost David Silva to the English giants, Los Che chiefs are desperate for Mata not to follow suit.

Valencia president Manuel Llorente said: "The boy is nonnegotiable, because he is a key player in our project."

Mata's father and agent, Juan Snr, added: "I have not had any contact with City."
