Valencia striker Marcos Andre happy with preseason form - and Gattuso demands

Valencia striker Marcos Andre is happy with his preseason form.

Andre scored twice in their friendly defeat to VfB Stuttgart on the weekend.

He said, "On a personal level, I feel very good. I'm very pleased, and I was really looking forward to starting a preseason from zero. It's something that I wasn't able to do last year. I'm very pleased.

"I was really looking forward to this preseason, and to doing things well and working hard. I've been training for a few weeks in order to be fit. I'm happy. I wanted to get going and show what I hadn't been able to do last year. Little by little I'm feeling good, and I'm raring to go."

On coach Rino Gattuso, Andre added: "I did what the coach asked of me. He told me to always look to get into the box, which is where everything happens. I'm looking to do what he asks, and it's working phenomenally for me."
