Valencia midfielder Enzo Perez hits back at Iniesta blame

Valencia midfielder Enzo Perez has hit back at claims he sought to injure Barcelona captain Andres Iniesta in their clash last month.

It left Iniesta with a knee injury, sidelining him for two months.

"I will never injure a player. They are actions of play. A week before, Pique was hit the same, he was out for three weeks and nobody said anything. Last Sunday Marcelo did exactly the same to a Leganes player and nobody said anything," said Perez.

"Iniesta is a great player, with Spain and in the world for all he has won and what he represents. But it's an old topic, it has to be done with."

He added that he spoke with the Barcelona man after it happened.

"I spoke with Andres, but I am saying again that I would not go out to try and injure any player, it's not my character."
