Valencia are moving to trump Liverpool for Barcelona winger Cristian Tello.
Liverpool remain favourites for Tello, who is keen on a loan move to Anfield in the coming days.
However, negotiations have alerted Valencia, says Super Deportes, where imminent new owner Peter Lim is prepared to bankroll a move for Tello this month.
Tello's agent is due to meet with Barca sports chief Andoni Zubizarreta tomorrow to request a release for loan.
