Valencia are keen to re-sign Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata.

The Sun says the Spaniard spent four years at the La Liga side, where he made 174 appearances across all competitions, before leaving for the Premier League in a move to Chelsea in 2011.

Mata's current deal at Old Trafford is set to run out at the end of the current campaign and Los Che are keen on a deal to bring him back to the Mestalla.

Reports suggest Valencia would only be keen to bring him in on a free transfer though because of his £130,000-a-week wage demands.

A Valencia insider said, "We know Juan's motives are not related to money and there's a very strong emotional attachment to take into account."
