Valencia coach Ruben Baraja delighted for fans after LaLiga safety secured

Valencia coach Ruben Baraja was delighted for the fans after securing LaLiga safety.

VCF's draw with Real Betis sees them safe for another season.

Baraja later said: "The Valencia CF fans have really been the architects of Valencia CF staying in the Primera Division, because they have pushed us and have understood the moment of difficulty, they have supported us, they have helped us grow and generated confidence in us. The team has played with that affection and support that has been vital, without which it would have been very difficult.

"I am very happy for the fans. This is not a time for celebration because it is salvation, with the demands that Valencia CF have, but with the difficulties that we found ourselves in and the dynamics that the team had, getting Valencia CF to stay in LaLiga meant giving back to the fans the love they have shown us.

"Mestalla has been amazing. At home we have achieved twice as many points as away, and against powerful rivals like Real Madrid, Real Sociedad, Osasuna and other teams from the upper part of the table. It has been a very hard road and Mestalla has been fundamental. When we arrived, it was clear to us that the key was Mestalla, to be strong at Mestalla. We had to be competitive and get points, and win games, but needing to win was also clear.

"Mestalla has been what we have relied on, with how the fans supported the team and gave us the confidence to grow in times of difficulty."
