Valencia coach Baraja unsure of January plans: Anything can happen

Valencia coach Ruben Baraja concedes he doesn't expect a busy January market.

Baraja has visited Singapore to discuss plans with owner Peter Lim.

He said today: "I already made the market assessments at the time and have shared them on several occasions. The squad is short but the team is making a great effort in positions, the commitment to push and adapt to difficult situations.

"We are in continuous communication, I directly convey to them what I think and what is important. There are things that I cannot value, my job is to work on what I can control, there are things that we cannot know at this moment and the market catches me far away. I have to be focused on what's mine, I don't worry about what I can't control.

"We talk about the day-to-day life of the team, normal communication. Something itself has not been addressed. There is one month left and you are already asking me if we sign or not, I can't wear myself out on this when I have the competition in front of me and I have some players that I trust and I believe can still grow.

"Talking about hypotheses... I'm not going to wear myself out. I say this with the utmost respect, it is December 1st. I am not aware that this can happen but in football anything can happen. A team pays a buyout clause and you can't do anything. I don't think the club is thinking about getting rid of players or someone is coming to pay a clause but in football anything can happen."
