Valencia coach Baraja: Real Madrid defeat our worst performance of season

Valencia coach Ruben Baraja was disappointed with his players after their thrashing at Real Madrid.

Valencia were overrun in the second-half to lose 5-1.

Baraja later said: "The difference has been the punch in the first half. Because after 2-0 we had to play more from the outside. Because at 1-1 we had more continuity, we shot three times and Madrid had more punch. Two shots, two goals and a stick. In the second half I was very disappointed because we lacked more pressure, more intensity, we lost virtues that we have shown in other games.

"The third and fourth are two actions that we have warned could not happen.

"A defeat as painful as today's is never positive. Today we have chosen the worst scenario you can because you do everything for Real Madrid to take advantage. It was not usual, if the team had something it was consistency and continuity. We have given our worst version.

"Today you can lose because Madrid has been superior, but not in the way you lose. We have to reset during this break. Knowing that for us every game is important because there were many things that I didn't like today."
