Valencia are moving for Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo.
The Mirror says the Spanish club's sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch travelled to England for talks with Rojo's representatives.
They are willing to pay £14m for the Argentina international.
And with United closing in on the signing of Benfica centre-back Victor Lindelof, Valencia hoped they could do a deal.
But Old Trafford chiefs are unlikely to sanction the sale following Rojo's return to form under Jose Mourinho.
