Valdano urges Real Madrid to break bank for Man Utd's Ronaldo

Former Real Madrid player and coach Jorge Valdano says his old club should break the bank for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Talk of a £100 million bid for the Manchester United star hasn't been dismissed by Real officials and Valdano said: "Cristiano Ronaldo would have a place of honour at Real Madrid, he would bring a leap in quality to the team, which needs an extraordinary player.

"Real Madrid went from having many outstanding players to not to having any. There are not many like him in the world."

Valdano continued: "He is outside of normal conditions. You would get a lot more back from paying for Ronaldo now."
