Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano says they're prepared to wait until next season to land Bayern Munich star Franck Ribery.

Valdano said: "We feel that Ribéry will not leave Bayern this season. They've found many ways to say no. They are also asking 80 million euros for the player, which is just a different way to say 'no'.

"So we've stepped back. We'll await another opportunity, which will certainly come.

"Ribéry has a two-year contract with Bayern, the road is long."
