Former Real Madrid GM Jorge Valdano says president Florentino Perez needs to buy big names this summer.

Valdano believes Florentino needs to excite the fans with some high profile players.

He declared: "They have to bring names this summer to Real Madrid that give a leap in quality and a leap in passion.

"This summer will be very long.

"The Real Madrid players know that now they are being scrutinized by a coach who in the summer will have a voice to build the future."
