USA striker Juan Agudelo is chasing a move to Championship club Wolves.
Agudelo was denied a move to Stoke City last season by UK work permit authorities.
The Washington Post says Agudelo is pursuing a European Union passport by acquiring property in Cyprus.
The striker remains in England and has spent the week trialling with Wolves.
Agudelo was due to take part in an U21 game against QPR last night.
