US Soccer yet to hear from AC Milan over Onyewu compo claim

US Soccer officials are yet to hear from AC Milan over compo claims for crocked defender Oguchi Onyewu. Onyewu has been ruled out for six months after damaging the tendon in his left knee while on international duty this week.

"I am very angry because the national teams once again take our players and we have to deal with their injuries," slammed Rossoneri Vice-President Adriano Galliani. "This is a problem that needs to be resolved. Milan demand compensation from the American Federation. We cannot give wages for six months to a player who cannot play.

"Enough is enough, we are penalised by sending our champions on international duty. They don't pay, but when there is an injury, we are the ones to suffer the consequences.

"Our lawyers are verifying if there are grounds to request compensation based on the wages paid while the player is out of action."

But a spokesman for US Soccer insisted: "We will respond when and if Milan contact us. For now that hasn't happened.

"For now we are only focusing on helping the player recover."
